🎈 Canon Ef 24Mm F 2.8 Review
Aside from the Canon EF 20mm f/2.8, the other compared-to lenses in this review are also very impressive, but when the full frame corners are reached, the Zeiss stands out somewhat from the others - with the Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5 L II Lens being an exception (it is basically equivalent in sharpness).
The focus mechanism sounds a bit metallic especially when operated with the lens unattached to a camera, but its not louder in operation than the DT 35 f/1.8. The Minolta AF 24 F2.8 focuses much quieter and faster. The original clip-on petal hood is dinky compared to the Minolta hoods.

The 14-24mm is a fantastic lens. Optically, it's everything I've ever wanted in a wide angle zoom, and it's a clear cut above the much loved 17-35mm in that respect. If you really have to have filter capability, you can get a very expensive filter holder kit (which in turn uses expensive 150mm filters; see link below).
The chief competitors are the Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 VC, which is physically a bit larger and just slightly lighter (50g), while the Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G lens only minutely smaller and lighter (150g). The 14-24 ART is 3.8” (96.4mm) in diameter and 5.32” (135.1mm) in length. As noted, that’s actually a half inch shorter than the Tamron 15
Being an Art lens, the 14-24mm F2.8 is designed to a very high standard, featuring low distortion, an array of specialty lens elements, and it should exhibit great sharpness for cameras with 50 megapixels and up. The 14-24mm F2.8 also comes with splash and dust sealing, and Sigma has made available a front-mount conversion service, to swap the
The 20mm ƒ/2.8 was released long before the advent of digital SLR camera bodies, designed to fit a full-size 36 x 24mm film frame. Thus, it will have no problems mounting on either Canon full- or

Correct, 43mm being the FF diagonal. This 24mm is a bit wider than normal since APS-C diagonal is 27mm. The sweet spot of focal lengths. It is quite versatile. With a suitable crop, it can shoot decent portraits, and with IBIS on the R7, you can shoot crazy slow shutter speeds and still get sharp photos in dim light.
